Maryland Wing names Mt. Airy brothers model contest award winners

12/21/2002––The Maryland Wing of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) named brothers Kushall and Vishall Kaistha of Mount Airy, Md. its Model Contest Award winners at the 2002 Maryland Wing Conference held in Solomons, Md. Both serve as Airman First Class in CAP’s Mount Airy Composite Squadron.

Kushall, 15, attended the wing’s glider academy and received his squadron’s most improved cadet award in 2000. He is a 10th grader at South Carroll High School, and enjoys playing basketball.

Vishall, 13, attended the wing’s glider academy and received his squadron’s most improved cadet award in 2001. He is an 8th-grade student at Mount Airy Middle School, and likes to skateboard.

Cadets in the Civil Air Patrol participate in a structured program through group and individual activities that include aerospace education, physical training, leadership, and moral and ethical values. The program encompasses 16 achievement levels that include study in these four areas.
